The Untitled Update - 05/24

SCRIPTING: 55%

Happy to announce that my entry for my Foreign Exchange collab is now complete. While it was certainly more time-consuming than I would have liked (8 minutes total!), I'm very pleased with how it turned out and pleased in general with how the collab as a whole is shaping up. See the collab this August!

In the meantime, I'm just planning on a little R&R this weekend to get some wind in my sails to work TUP again. As always, be sure to become a subscriber today to catch the sneak peek for the upcoming episode!

<Seriously, who is this guy?>

Work continues slowly on TUP (six minutes now!), although it's taken a back seat for managing the Foreign Exchange collab and making an entry for it. Hoping to get the entry done next month alongside a couple IRL personal commitments to free me up to devote my free time entirely to this.

With all that said, I'm pretty excited for how my entry is turning out as well as the entries that have been submitted so far. It's been a challenge with the concept of using foreign sources, but everyone has been doing great so far and I'm very excited to share the collab with you all come August!

As before, if we hit our $16 goal, I will share an exclusive sneak peek of the latest episode of TUP on my Discord server to Finn and Jake subscribers.

Well, I kicked off my first ever collab. The idea had been rattling around in my head for a while and I figured now would be as good a time as any to make it. The collab is based around exchanging unfamiliar, foreign sources to make great YTPs, and it looks like we'll be able to take full advantage of the concept with over 50 participants and over 20 countries represented. While it's been a ton of work upfront making the announcement video, the Discord server, storyboards, and source lists together for everyone's countries, enthusiasm and excitement are high as we look forward to getting started! Expect the collab to drop late summer 2024!

Unsurprisingly, this has taken some time away from TUP, although that's also partly because I'm still gathering high resolution source material (upgrading from 480p to 1080p). Some small progress has been made though, and once sign-ups close for FE collab, I should have the time and sources to hit the ground running again.

Well, the Mitchell Bunch collab was a massive success! Despite the countless delays and copyright shenanigans, we were able to pull it off thanks to the continued support and perseverance of the whole team! So glad that we were able to release this project.

On other fronts, I still have the Doug Walker Collab III and the final Scooby-Doo collab whose entries I did a long time ago (in the case of the Scooby-Doo entry, a year now!). Both of these when they release (sometime this summer, I've been informed), should help keep you guys tided over while scripting continues for TUP 2.5. My tentative plan is to start work on editing once I hit 50% completion on the script. I will admit there is a part of me that's worried that I may be biting off more than I can chew, but I can always trim the fat later down the line.

Happy tax day, America!

Figured it was about time I updated you all on what's been cooking behind the scenes here given the radio silence.

The biggest bit of news is that I have officially taken charge of The Mitchell Bunch collab with Virtua's blessing and will be premiering it on my channel on April 28 to celebrate the two year anniversary of the movie. Hope to see you at the premiere!

The other bit of news is that I drummed up a quick entry for Duck@ss's Doug Walker Collab III, set to premiere at the end of May. Some of you may remember my entry for NitroEdits's Doug Walker Collab II, so it'll be nice to have a short, quick YTP and a return to a familiar source.

Hopefully all these collabs (and maybe the fourth Scooby-Doo collab someday) will be enough to tide you guys over while I lay the groundwork for the season 2 finale of The Untitled Project. It's pretty ambitious, I will admit, but will be well worth it once it's finished!

The Untitled Update - 03/22

SCRIPTING: 50%

At long last, I'm pleased to announce the completion of my entry for TRXN's final Scooby-Doo Cornetto collab! The good news is that this will be the last collab I'm joining until TUP 2.4 is completed! (Well, maybe a short entry for Tube Poop: Story Mode, but emphasis on "short") The bad news is I think I'll need to take another short break from YTP. Even taking the chaos in my personal life combined with burnout from my recent YTP work, I also think I need to go back to the drawing board for the next episode of The Untitled Project. In addition to getting new ideas, I've also enhanced some of my toolset by finally taking a look at Runway as an alternative to After Effects and finding value in both tools. While AE's rotobrush works pretty well for Adventure Time characters, Runway's machine learning seems to work pretty well with other, more difficult, animated sources. There's value in both, of course, and these new possibilities opens the door for interesting story ideas I would not have otherwise considered.

tl;dr: My collab work is done, and, after a short break (~1 month), I'll be back at The Untitled Project with my full attention. As mentioned previously, subscribers on SubscribeStar can have the chance to see my The Mitchell Bunch collab entry in advance, coming late April alongside the aforementioned Scooby-Doo collab entry in June.
